iPhone fans worldwide are waiting with baited breath for September 21, the day that the iPhone 5 goes on sale. However, a series of leaked pictures are making their way across the Internet and simultaneously causing a firestorm of controversy within the ranks of self-professed iPhone lovers.
Around the world people are already praising or bemoaning the apparent redesign of the Apple device. iPhone users are a passionate bunch. Half of them embrace each and every update that Apple makes, including the introduction of Siri, the “intelligent personal assistant” that can tell you if it’s raining outside or when to take dinner out of the oven.
The other faction of iPhone devotees begrudgingly tolerates the innovations that accompany the release of each new iPhone and make no qualms about stating their preference for the status quo. If it ain’t broke, why fix it? Which is why the iPhone 5 may create the biggest divide yet among the iPhone crowd.
Online articles showing the leaked pictures already have comment sections that are quickly growing with split sentiment. This is due to several factors. One, it looks like the new iPhone has a bigger screen display. Some will love it. Others, not so much. The same goes for the thinner body.
Of course, no one will know for sure how these changes affect the functionality of the iPhone until it’s in the hands of users, but that won’t stop fans from prematurely speculating about their pros and cons. However, some iPhone users may be more concerned with what’s on the inside of the new iPhone. For many fans, their love for Apple depends on the software it provides with each new device. Word on the street is that Tim Cook, the man who took over Apple’s CEO duties from the late Steve Jobs, wants the iPhone 5 to change people’s lives.
Exactly how that will happen is yet to be determined. In the meantime, iPhone users will continue to debate on whether the newest incarnation of this device will be a hit or miss. Just 29 days and counting before the world knows for sure…
